Pentax P3N SLR FILM CAMERA

THE CAMERA

These photos were taken with my thrifted Pentax P3N, which I found on Depop during the summer of 2020. Like a lot of people during COVID, I felt inspired to pick up old hobbies and try something new again. This was my first time shooting film in years. The last time I used a film camera was when I was about six years old, using my parents’ old Kodak point-and-shoot.

There’s something really special about shooting on film again — especially with an SLR camera. My parents never owned an SLR, so being able to finally afford one myself at this point in my life feels both nostalgic and meaningful. I’ve honestly fallen in love with this camera already.

These shots were taken on a roll of Fujifilm Fujicolor 200 during golden hour, and I’m pretty happy with how they turned out for my first time back shooting film. I still need to work on keeping my hands steady to avoid some blur — or maybe I’ll finally bring a tripod next time — but overall, I think the photos and settings came out pretty well for a beginner. Hopefully, anyway. Hahaha
